Supporting the Mental Health of Asian and Pacific Islander Children in San Joaquin Valley Schools

A Community Forum

Wed, October 3, 2018, 12 pm – 4:30 pm

Alliant International University, Fresno

We were honored to organize a community forum for the MHSOAC Schools and Mental Health Project to reach out to the API communities of the San Joaquin Valley! The communities came together to identify risk and protective factors for API children’s mental health and to discuss best practices for serving API children and youth in schools and the community. As a result, several collaborative projects for prevention and early intervention are now under discussion!

The culturally responsive practices discussed in the forum will be incorporated into policy recommendations to the Commission. The Valley API Mental Health Project is proud of its role in ensuring that API voices on mental health are heard!
